Lamaze Classes
Learn the latest in childbirth by attenging the Lamaze Classes at Doctors Hospital. Typically, parents take Lamaze classes during their third trimester of the pregnancy when the mother is about 7 months pregnant. Classes address what to expect after the baby is born, breastfeeding, baby care, what to expect during labor and delivery, breathing and relaxation techniques and much more. The essential education service provided by the Organizational Learning Department creates an environment that fosters competency, self development and continued learning to support Doctors Hospital mission, vision, goals and objectives for both internal and external Customers. Hours of operation are from 8 am – 4 pm and occasional Saturdays when courses cannot be accommodated within the normal working hours.

ACLS
Adult Cardiac Life Support Class for healthcare providers to learn advanced skills to direct or participate in the resuscitation of a patient whether in or out of hospital
MEDICAL TERMINOLOGY
Tuesdays, 9am - 1pm (every Tuesday of each month)
To expand knowledge on medical terms
ECG COURSE
To learn basic cardiac rhythms and to prepare for ACLS class
PATIENT CARE TECHNICIAN (PCT) COURSE
To train persons as Patient Care Technicians to assist the RN in care of patients at the bedside
ER ROUNDS
Tuesdays, 8am - 10am (every tuesday of each month)

CATH LAB CONFERENCE
Thursdays, 8am - 10am (every Thursday of each month)

BLS
For Healthcare providers to learn the knowledge and skills to save lives for victims of all ages
ANNUAL REVIEW
Mandatory session for all Associates to review matters on Infection Control, Risk Management, Safety, Environment etc.
INTRAVENOUS INSERTION CLASS
To teach Associates the skills of proper insertion of an IV and the complications associated with it
ORDER ENTRY
To teach new healthcare providers how to enter orders for various tests into the Meditech system
PCS
To teach new nurses how to document nursing care and care plans in the Meditech system
NRP
To teach nurse midwives skills and knowledge on how to resuscitate newborns
GENERAL ORIENTATION
To give new Associates an overview of Doctors Hospital , its policies, procedures, rules, benefits etc
CUSTOMER SERVICE
To teach new Associates effective Customer service skills

OMNICELL TRAINING
To teach new nurses how to operate the Omnicell system so as to accurately dispense and charge for medications used for patients
DOCUMENTATION
To teach new nurses the legal importance of documentation and how it impacts the company
NURSE ORIENTATION
To review with new nurses job description, pertinent JCI policies, skills checklist and medication test
PPE
Personal Protective Equipment. To train healthcare providers how to put on and take off personal protective equipment without contaminating themselves or/and others
PHARMACY INSERVICE
Safe Medication Use
PALS
To teach healthcare providers how to interpret the elements of pediatric assessment and recognize signs of respiratory failure and shock and treat these problems before they cause cardiac arrest
American Heart Instructor Course
To teach instructors how to prepare students to recognize several life-threatening emergincies and to provide CPR, use an AED, and relieve choking in a safe, timely and effective manner
Certificate Giving Ceremony
Graduation exercise for Medical Terminology, PCT and Phlebotomy students
Nursing Competency Testing
To review various nursing skill competencies to insure continuous high quality of care to patients

To teach Supervisors how to be effective leaders in the workplace
LIFTING TECHNIQUES
