THE BALL GOWNS HAVE BEEN RETIRED BUT DONATIONS CONTINUE TO WALTZ IN

Doctors Hospital Makes Annual Contribution to the AIDS Foundation

The anticipated ball of the year, the Red Ribbon Ball, has come and gone.  Fashionistas all over Nassau and the Family Islands have retired their perfect ball gown to the back of the closet, not to be seen again until next year.  But as the fabulous dresses and dancing shoes take a rest until the next ‘big’ ball, the fight against HIV/AIDS in the Bahamas and its effect on our community rages on and we must continue to be mindful.
According to the Foundation, donations from the ball has enabled them to realize many goals, some gaining world wide recognition and acclaim, but in keeping ‘The Promise’, this year’s Red Ribbon Ball theme, a lot more work has to be done and it is only with the help of corporate partners can those goals become reality.
Doctors Hospital shares the vision of the AIDS Foundation - to provide education and awareness, to assist in the prevention, treatment and cure and to provide support for people living with HIV/AIDS and has for a number of years, been a patron of the AIDS Foundation of the Bahamas.  As the Hospital continues its commitment to service within the Bahamian community, a check presentation was made to the AIDS Foundation to assist in the continuation of its excellent work for the benefit of the entire Bahamian community.
“By our donations to the AIDS Foundation, we are ‘keeping our promise’ of service to the Bahamian Community.  Education and awareness are two critical strategies in our mandate and in the fight against HIV/AIDS. In keeping with our mission and vision, we have to make a difference by our own actions as there is still no cure. It is our pleasure to support the AIDS Foundation as they continue to make such a lasting difference in the lives of patients fighting the battle against HIV/AIDS” says Doctors Hospital’s VP Operations, Michele Rassin.
